The extremist organizations are becoming techno-savvy. Or at least the CPI (Maoist) are. This fact came to fore when the Ranchi police arrested a female cadre of the Kundan Pahan’s platoon.
Pahan, a zonal commander of the CPI (Maoist) and the person responsible for the loot of 5.5 crore and the death of the five personnel in Tamar in recent past, had sent this cadre of his to get the updated knowledge of computer.
Identified as Moulin Topno, daughter of late Kalyan Topno and a resident of Rania, revealed before the police that she was sent to the state capital to gain expertise in computers.
"I had joined the Kundan Pahan’s gang in September last year. He asked to work for his gang and I was told to take a training in computer application so that I could handle the technical works of the gang," Topno claimed before police.
Police said that Topno joined the gang after she came in contact with Prasad, the a zonal commander at West Singhbhum. She stayed in the state capital with two other extremist. Police said that the other two, namely Ali and Mister, escaped before raids were conducted.
"She was first the member of Nari Mukti Sangh. She was first placed in the capital to carry consignments and goods needed by the extremist in the forests. Later, as the extremists felt the need of the technology her work was shifted from that of a carrier and she was asked to learn computers," MS Bhatia, SSP Ranchi.
