The admission scam that has popped out in the medical colleges recently has its connections with the neighbouring states of Bihar, sources claim. The fake admissions were all managed from the elite medical colleges in Patna and Darbhanga, that have deep routed nexus of the of admission setters.
Also, the fake photographs of the candidates that are supposedly a mixture of the photograph of the candidate and the person who sit for the examination is also specially made in a photo studio located in Patna.
Besides, the scam would not have come to the notice of administration if the students of a reserved category would not have objected to the entry of fake candidates in their category.
“The medical students who sit for examination in place of the original candidates are known as Scholars. Most of the scholars are been booked by the setters from the prominent medical colleges in Patna,” the source claimed. He said that the setters belong to the racket run by Ranjeet Don, a setter who was nabbed by Bihar Police years back.
The source claimed that the scholars from Jharkhand and Bihar are send to all nook and corners of the country for sitting in the medical examinations. “They are given best treatment are paid any amount from Rs. 40000 to Rs.4 lakh for per sitting,” the source added.
In the past one year, many medical students have been caught in the Punjab, Chattisgarh, Jammu and Kashmir and other north eastern states – who were alleged of giving medical entrance examination in place of the candidates.
Meanwhile, sources claimed that a particular photo studio near the veterinary college campus in Patna does the work of photo mixing. “If you people standing in that studio they are either setter or the scholar. The do photo mixing so that the picture look like the scholar as well as the candidate,” the source added.
Sources at RIMS said that the matter of fake candidates came to the notice of the administration after some senior ST students objected to the admission of some new comers.
“The record of the ST candidates is good at RIMS. They generally do not get any year back. The ST students feared that the fake ST students may blacken their record. The seniors had warned the newcomers ST students in the beginning, however, at length they complained to the authority about the irregularity,” sources added.
