The endeavour that began after the Ram setu movement has found its Jharkhand connection. The movement to prove the facts and characters of the holy epic Ramanaya has added a feather to its cap in the holy capital of the state.

Some researchers have claimed that the legendary villain of the epic Ravana used to come to the holy city of Deogarh to visit the Baba Baijhnath temple here. The researchers have found traces of the runway on which Ravana used to land his Puspak viman.

Prior to this finding the researcher had found a similar location in Sri Lanka that was believed to be the runway for the Puspak Viman in Lanka. The researcher have also claimed to have discovered the Puspak Viman and the grave of Rvana in Sri Lanka.

The researchers have found a runway that stands 2470 feet above the sea level that stands above the Trikoot hills, situated 18 kilometres from Deoghar. Spread in an area if 12 hectares, the area resembles to an airport.

According to mythological tales, Ravana used to come to the holy city to worship Lord Shiva. The tales also claims that the city of Deogarh and the temple of Shiva was also founded by Ravana.

Meanwhile, the said airport found 2470 feet above the sea level and stretched over 12 hectares on a hill top is not a natural phenomena. “It is no doubt a man-made place, because one cannot find such a long-stretched plain land on a hilltop,” claimed a researcher.

The researcher has also claimed to have discovered an earthen lamp that was used as signal for the earthen lamp. The structure is said to have made from rocks and is attached to ground.

The archaeological department however claims that there is no authenticity to the claims of the researchers. “We don’t have any such information neither do we confirm the claims of the people who have found out the site. It is just that some people are trying to get media mileage and are promoting such things,” Harendra Prasad of archaeological department said.
