Be it the Jammu and Kashmir police from the extreme North or the Goa police from extreme south - they all have to smell the soil of Jharkhand for solving the biggest cases in their history.
Jharkhand in the past one year has seen police from not less than a dozen of state patrolling for searching the culprits of crime in their area. With the biggest Jewel loot at Sambhalpur in Orrisa or the series of thefts in the mobile shops of Goa or the case of heinous murder in Punjab - the saying for police all over the nation has become 'All roads lead to Jharkhand'.
One of the biggest recoveries made in the country was in the State. A combined team of Jharkhand and Orissa police had nabbed three criminals from who had in their possession gold jewels weighing 4 kg. The recovery was a part of booty worth Rs. 12 crores that was looted from Orrisa last year. A team of Ranchi police nabbed the criminals from Main Road area.
"A team of Sambhalpur police was in the State for about a month. We got the information that the culprits were from a Jharkhand based gang. On that day they criminals had came to dispose the booty, however, they could do it we nabbed them," KK Sahu, the then officer-in-charge of Lower Bazaar police station said.
Meanwhile, simultaneously West Bengal police was in State to nab criminals who had robbed bank drafts from Kharagpur. "A Jharkhand based gang had robbed blank bank drafts from a bank at Kharagpur. The miscreants used this drafts to buy vehicles all over the country. Not only this they had opened a travel agency that ran on cars bought using the drafts," Mohammad Nihalludin, circle inspector, Daily Market area said.
Nihalludin added that many of the vehicle were resold in Jharkhand as well as were running in the name of travel agencies. "We had recovered three cars from the State Capital and many recoveries were made from the other parts of the state," he added.
Recently, the Goa police visited the Santhal pargana in order to solve the series of theft in the mobile stores case. "We had information's that a Jharkhand based gang uses a unique modus operandi. They first break the ventilator and then use a kid of enter the shop and clean all the items in the shop. We traced the clue and have nabbed the culprit from Teen-pear area here," claimed a officer of Goa police.
A couple of days back the Punjab police was in the state to nab two people who had committed fraud and fled away with an amount of Rs.7 lakh from a school. "One of the culprits used to work with the School there as a accountant. His partner used to operate from here. The latter made bank accounts on factious name and the accountant used to transfer the amount in that account. We have nabbed both of them," claimed a member of the Punjab police squad.
The story does not end here. Almost police from dozen of States have visited the Jharkhand and the list is increasing with time. Besides other states the police of Delhi, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh and Bengal pay regular visits to the State after most of the major crimes there.
